Hate Crime Week Derby

Derby hate crime week aims to raise awareness and tackle relevant issues surrounding all 5 strands of hate crime! To encourage reporting! and also to promote local services and resources.
Friday 9th October- Theatre workshop @ Derby theatre, 5.30pm- 6.45pm & Derby theatre performance of ‘outsiders’. 8pm ( with post show discussion)

Saturday 10th October-Invisible theatre performance & Awareness raising roadshow!

Sunday 11th October- Screen of American History X! @ The Mandela Community Centre followed by discussion 7pm start & Radio Roadshow.
Monday 12th October- ACT against hate Roadshow awareness raising @ the Eagle Centre Market & Exhibition launch @ Derby LIVE Guildhall Theatre 4pm-6pm. (Running over the remaining days of Hate Crime Week!)

Tuesday 13th October- Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire summit @ University of Derby & Twisted Tongues workshop 4pm-6pm &Twisted Tongues Open Mic night to tackle Hate Crime QUAD – Derby
Wednesday 14th October – University of Derby – International stalls for various organisations and services 10am- 4pm, panel discussion @ UoD ‘victims and perpetrators, 6pm-9pm.

Thursday 15th October- Achieved footage and discussion ‘Hate Crime past & present’ Mandela Centre, Derby.
Friday 16th October- Religious diversity and Anti-discrimination training @Multi-Faith Centren10am – 4pm & Transphobic Hate Crime workshop/ discussion @Unitarian chapel, Friargate 7pm-9pm.
Saturday 17th October- Derby City Centre, invisible theatre performance & CELEBRATING ACT & Hate Crime week ending @ the Mandela Centre 6pm – 11pm.

Volunteers can help with select events that interest them or become a full member of the team for a week. The experience of working on this landmark event will be invaluable and help bring the citizens of Derby together.
