Mash Up Theatre Company to deliver the Junior Warden Scheme



Derby Homes have awarded a contract to the Mash Up Theatre Company to deliver the Junior Warden Scheme, and we need your help to promote recruitment to the scheme.


The Junior Warden scheme operates in 6 areas of the city and is a neighbourhood based youth scheme for children and young people aged between 9-14yrs living in our homes or on our estates.  The scheme is FREE to join and those taking part in the scheme benefit from a structured program, consisting of a number of interactive workshops and educational and entertaining activities that aim to deliver outcomes for the young people around the following priorities;


ü  Raising the aspirations of young people

* Assisting in breaking the cycle of low educational attainment

*   Promoting citizenship and democratic participation

*   Promoting social development


The Junior Warden Scheme also strategically links with the new Derby Homes Youth Board, and existing Voices In Action Youth Council.


Sessions start at 4.30pm until 6pm every other week (fortnightly) including throughout the school holidays as follows;


Week 1

Tuesday              Derwent Scheme, Nottingham Road Fire Station, Chaddesden

Wednesday        Allenton & Osmaston Scheme, Slaney Close Community Room, Allenton

Thursday            Sinfin Scheme, Glengarry Way, Sinfin


Week 2

Wednesday        Alvaston Scheme, Humber Close Community Room, Alvaston

Thursday            Morley & Mackworth Scheme, Streatham Road Community Room, Mackworth

Friday                  Chaddesden Scheme, Oakleigh Avenue, Chaddesden
